
1) Open the My Computer icon then Double click on Dial-Up Networking
2) Enter USAtek in the name field then click Next.
3) Type the area code and phone number of a USAtek Internet dialup that
is LOCAL to you.
(Refer to the dialup list or our website http://usatek.net/).
Click Next.
4) Make sure to check use area code and dialing properties and click
ok.
5) After the setup wizard has completed it will create a USAtek icon (in
Dial-Up Networking).
Highlight the USAtek icon, right click the icon called USAtek then left
click on PROPERTIES.
Click the Server Types tab. Uncheck ‘Log On to the Network’, ‘NetBEUI’
and ‘IPX/SPX’.
Now click the TCP/IP Settings button and verfiy the settings are as
pictured below.
6) Click 'Server assigned name server addresses'.
After clicking OK twice you will be put back into Dial-Up Networking.
7) Right click on the USAtek icon and select "Create Shortcut" you will
get an error telling you that the shortcut must be placed on your desk
top. Click OK.
8) Close all open windows
To connect, double click the "shortcut to USAtek" Icon,
enter your USERNAME (in lowercase only) and PASSWORD (passwords are
CASE SENSITIVE),
make sure SAVE PASSWORD IS CHECKED then click CONNECT.
After a minute or two you will be connected to USAtek. Open your web browser (Internet explorer, Netscape, etc…)
