Multiple Accounts for Eudora - Macintosh


Eudora Pro, included in Internet Tools 2000, can be configured for multiple users.  This is ideal for multiple people sharing a single computer, but who each want to use Eudora Pro to check and send e-mail.
 

Eudora Multiple Accounts Setup

Eudora Multiple Accounts Wizard is included on the Internet Tools 2001 CD, but requires a seperate installation.

1. When you insert the iTools 2000 CD, the installation screen pops up. Click Continue Read the License Agreement and click Accept.

2. Where you see Typical Install, click the drop down box and select Package Extras.

Click Install. Then follow the on-screen instructions, but make sure Do Not Configure My Connection Settings is selected when you get to that option.

3. After finishing the Eudora Multiple Accounts installation, a second and third icon will appear on the desktop for the other users. The person who originally installed Internet Tools 2001 should continue to open Eudora in the same way he or she has always opened it. You can rename these icons to something more descriptive if you wish.

4. When you click on one of the new Eudora icons, the system will ask you if you want to use the System Keychain, this is not recommended for security reasons unless you have multiple users set up for the machine.

5. Click Special > Settings. In the settings box, fill in the correct information in each of the boxes:
Eudora Pro Mail Settings
Put the person (or your) real hame in the Real name: field, your ulid in the Username: field, and your e-mail address in the Return address box.

6. You need to repeat steps 4 and 5 with the additional icon/person. If you don't need the icon/name, you can delete the icon without problems.
