2. Follow the on-screen instructions to add or remove multiple Eudora accounts.
3. After finishing the Eudora Multiple Accounts Wizard, the second person
will have his or her own Eudora icon. The person who originally installed
Internet Tools 2001 should continue to open Eudora in the same way he or
she has always opened it.
Manually Configuring Eudora Pro for Multiple Users
If you not have the Eudora Multiple Accounts Wizard, or if you wish to perform this configuration manually, follow the directions below.
Step 1: Create Folder for Multiple Users
1. Click Start > Programs > Windows Explorer
2. Click File > New > Folder
3. A new folder will appear on the right side of Windows Explorer. The new folder will be named New Folder, and will contain a flashing cursor. Rename the folder users. To rename the folder, simply begin typing the new name. After you have renamed the folder, press Enter on your keyboard.
4. Double-click on the users folder you just created.
5. Click File > New > Folder
6. A new folder will appear on the right side of Windows Explorer.
The new folder will be named New Folder, and will contain a flashing cursor.
Rename the folder using the ULID of the person will be the secondary user
of Eudora. To rename the folder, simply begin typing the new ULID.
After you have renamed the folder, press Enter on your keyboard.
Example: Joe Itools owns a computer and allows Reggie
R. Redbird, his roommate, to share that computer. Reggie wants to
be able to use Eudora Pro to check his e-mail; Reggie's ULID is rrredbi.
Joe is setting up the multiple Eudora account for Reggie, so he names the
folder rrredbi (since this is Reggie's ULID).
7. Close Windows Explorer.
Step 2: Create Eudora Shortcut
1. Right-click on your desktop (do not click on any icons). From the pop-up menu that appears, select New > Shortcut.
2. In the box labeled Command line:, type the directory path to the Eudora.exe file. If you installed Eudora Pro as a part of Internet Tools 2001, the command will be as follows.
"C:\Program Files\Internet Tools
2001\Eudora\Eudora.exe"
Be sure to include the quote (" ") marks.
If you installed Eudora Pro as a part of a different version of Internet Tools or if you installed it from a Eudora CD, you must change this directory path as appropriate. Once you have typed the directory path, click Next
3. Type a name for the shortcut. For example, if your roommate,
Reggie, will be using this Eudora shortcut, you might want to name it Reggie's
Eudora. Click Finish.
4. The new shortcut will appear on your desktop. Right-click on the shortcut icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
5. Click on the Shortcut tab, and locate the box labeled Target:. This box should contain the command line you specified in Step 2 above. Add a space after the last character in the command line, then type the following:
C:\users\<ULID> (ULID is User Login Identification, in this case
ULID is actually the ULID of a the person who will be using the second
Eudora account).
Example: Joe Itools owns a computer and allows Reggie R. Redbi, his roommate, to share that computer. Reggie wants to be able to use Eudora Pro to check his e-mail; Reggie's ULID is rrredbi. Joe is setting up the multiple Eudora account for Reggie, so he adds the following to the existing command line in the Target: box: C:\users\rrredbi
6. Locate the box labeled Start in:, and delete whatever it currently contains. In the Start in: box, type the same command line you specified in Step 5 above (i.e. C:\users\<ULID>).
7. Click OK. You have now created a new Eudora icon. Before this Eudora account can be used, it must be configured with the second user's e-mail information.
